The Bowie Knife was originally going to be a Bowie monument/statue to be put at a specific location for the Bowie community as a symbol of pride and honor of our roots. Originally the idea to build this knife was from a long time Bowie patron, Bob Hadley, who had sculpted many art pieces and had been featured in numerous magazines for his accomplishments. At the first part of the year we, the Bowie Chamber of Commerce, decided it was time to get this project started.
The Bowie Knife Project was born after drawing up plans and deciding to apply for a world record for the “World's Largest Bowie Knife”. The “project” is to raise funds to be able to build this enormous landmark and set a world record!
